The Magic... The Love... The Manor

Imagine living in a historic manor in the prosperous suburban city of Mount Prospect that has been filled with the energy of the love of hundreds and hundreds of couples confessing their devotion for each other on their wedding day.

Since 2011, Pine Manor has been operating as Illinois' most unique wedding venue. The only one in the state that I know of (Rev Pam is writing this)  - where you can get married in the wedding officiant's home. Since then, I have hosted and officiated hundreds of weddings here at the manor.

Even if you decide not to keep the business going... the atmosphere of this amazing romantic 1920s (rare and historic) Dutch Colonial Manor will fill your heart with love and happiness. Amazing place to raise kids. Wait until you see the tree-house bedroom! AND the garden... filled with fruit trees, herbs and flowers. most everything you can eat / digest in some form. (wink) and the area - Genuinely nice neighbors and a diverse suburb, easy public transportation just a few blocks from the center of town and the Metra train station and bus. This really is the PERFECT home opportunity. Priced very affordable - Will it be yours?

Beautiful Garden

Covered Porch & Fenced Backyard

Private. Enclosed. The backyard is amazing.

Beautiful Fruit Trees, Herbs and Honeysuckle Arch

Pear tree grafted with 5 different kinds of pears. Black berry tree, Holly bush, flowering trees and a honeysuckle arch. Watch the walk through video to see June's burst of color. See Below.

Statues, Fireplace, Pond and Patio +

The backyard is set up to really enjoy. Wood fireplace, pond and paved brick patio are all just steps outside the covered deck addition put on about five years ago. The far side of the yard has a storage barn hidden behind a long needle pine my father and son planted. Many statues will be included with the business purchase to keep the rare and unique ambience. At night the yard is light up by blue lights all while guarded by gargoyle and mystic gods and goddess statues. At the top of the house a hafe circle window glows the beautiful stain glass windowpane for everyone to see as they drive by.

*this link will take you to the Garden.Pics website to see more of this amazing backyard. You would get this website with the business.

Your New Home in Mt Prospect, IL

A Romantic History

Founders Row, This House Was Built For The Busse Family.

In 1928 Mr Busse, The President of our little city Mt. Prospect started to build a house.  He hired the famous architect Lundquest, who had just finished the city's Golf Course.  They followed the plans from Sears home "The Van Jean" Pictured here. Mr. Busse's Daughter Married Mr. Meijer's Son who lived in the Manor for a short time - until the Great Crash.

William Mott, DAMP Project Family Home

The DAMP Project got the NW Suburbs it's city water! and the man who lived in Pine Manor was the head of the movement. William Mott raised his son in this home, hosted boy scouts and managed this important project for the advancement in the 30s

Pine Manor History - the project.

I have collected hundreds of articles regarding the house and the people who lived here. A lot of it is recorded on the following.  The rest of the info I hope to pass along for the next owner to finish recording the history of this very important area home.

Phone Number Spells "Pine". (847) 873-7463.  When you buy the Pine Manor and business you will get two landline phones. This French design sits in the 3rd bedroom bride's suite. Fun for a video of the bride talking on the phone. Really works with landline transfer. See the REAL Destination Wedding Chapel website residing on a different URL with tons of photos.

I don't have a lot of furniture here because I primarily use this space for performing ceremonies inside. (before the virus) I would set up theatre style 30 chairs ( which come with the business) and white carpet to the fireplace. I have painted the room very artsy... with golf leaf on the ceiling and added a circa 1800s rotating light fan. I kept the original brick and tile for the wood burning fireplace. The windows have French doors and storm windows. Very bright room with all the windows.

The molding around the ceiling is hand stenciled with beautiful flowers and ivy. Ivy ascents are also stenciled on the wall. with adjoining room wallpapered circa 70's

There are three bedrooms in the home.  But I also have a pull out sofa in the unfinished basement where I set up one room as a play room for extra guests. My bedroom is the top left. It is an L-shaped room and perfect to have a work office area and bedroom area separate. The larger room has a huge tree painted on the wall and ceiling and a lofted tree house bed taking up 1/2 the space. It's amazing. and provides a fun place to play, do homework and "sleep in a tree house" (your kid is going to love this!) this room has two large closets and windows to the back yard garden.
